Director and producer for an outstanding documentary, entitled “One Week in the Life of an American School,” a compelling eight days in a California inner-city 4-6 grade school where eighty-five percent of the 550 students come from homes whose first language is not English. This twenty-three-minute designed-for-television study of current patterns of immigration and acculturation and the very personal struggle of California teachers and students to create relevant educational institutions is a visual knockout, with well-integrated original digital music scores and very effective use of digital video effects. This documentary was featured at the Women Make Film Festival in Olympia, Washington.
